TOLD Newsletter 10 April 2018

Dear TOLD members,

april 2018 wa taxi newsletterAt the last meeting in November 2017, members have been advised about the proposed actions to be undertaken by TOLD in order to counter the very unfair and unreasonable taxi plate’s buyback proposal.

Those actions have now been completed and the outcomes will be presented on our next global meeting (see details below).

Three and a half years of uncertainty, the appalling buy-back proposal and invasion of uber-like cars (currently exceeding 12,500) is a death sentence for many legitimate owners. In addition, the latest announced by the Government to deregulate the taxi industry immediately after buyback is a sign of Government’s desperation to secure the passage of the Taxi Reforms Bill in both houses of the Parliament. Indeed, it is also a move to destroy and bury the industry that we’ve built for the last 70 years. The corrupted behaviour of some of the WA politicians and the enormous distrust towards them has been developing in our hearts for some time now and the time to challenge this behaviour has come.

Please join us on the 15th of April, to hear first hand, what is really happening in the industry – the latest, the real and the fake news.

We have also secured a short speech by one of the Members of Parliament (or his advisor) to inform us about position of his party.
